Hey Cutie! Welcome to Picnic for Tea! My name is Kara and all of the things around here are made by me in my home studio in Melbourne, Australia!

Picnic for Tea was established in Adelaide, South Australia in 2010. What began as experiments in creating miniatures from clay has now become a successful handmade business that has been featured by the likes of Frankie Magazine, Adelaide Now and the City Magazine.

In 2018 I moved to Melbourne to grow my business, but life really got in the way! At the end of 2022 I found the time, energy and creative spark to bring back Picnic for Tea, but I made it a little different! I've broken out of the niche of tiny foods - but don't worry, I'll still be making those! Picnic for Tea is now a creative outlet for me as a maker - you'll find all sorts of things here - basically whatever I feel inspired to create! This means lots of one of a kind works of art fuelled by a burst of inspiration and experimentation!

Each mini food item has been lovingly handmade by me with a focus on texture and scale, to create a realistic miniature replica. Each miniature is created from premium Polymer Clay and high quality surgical steel jewellery findings.
